Act Soon! Grants Open for Summer Enrichment, Academic Support, & Child Care
The Legislature approved a funding package (HB5042A) providing $250 million in state funds, combined with $75 million in federal funds, for a total of $325 million available to school districts and community-based organizations to help students and children learn, thrive, and have fun this summer.
1) Due May 10: Summer Academic Support Grants for school districts, education service districts, and charter schools

Grants are available to districts for a wide range of programming:
High school: for academic support to acquire credits
K-8: for summer enrichment, academic support, and social-emotional and mental health services
K-5: for wraparound child care services for students participating in summer enrichment and academic support
Districts can partner with CBOs and include funding in their applications to contract for programming
Funds not applied for or used by September 30, 2021 will be returned to the state general fund.
2) Due May 25: Early Childhood Summer Support Grants for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
Pool of $1.2 million administered by the Oregon Community Foundation for early childhood summer support offered by CBOs regardless of school district participation.
Grants up to $50K; applications by May 25; awards by June 25.
3) Awarded on Rolling Basis: K-12 Summer Learning Grants for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
Pool of $40 million administered by the Oregon Community Foundation for K-12 programming offered by CBOs regardless of school district participation.
Grants of $15K - $200K; applications accepted, reviewed, and awarded on a rolling basis throughout spring to ensure programs have funds in hand to plan and implement.
