Oregon Legislative Session: Starts This Week!
This is Our Year! Use Your Voice for Change
The Legislature was scheduled to start holding remote committee meetings and in-person floor sessions Tuesday, January 19. As a result of advice from State Police based on concerns around extremist actions being planned for Inauguration Day and the days leading up to it, that has been changed. Remote committee hearings will not begin until Thursday, Jan 21, the day after the Inauguration, and floor session will occur later in the week.
There are many ways to participate! First, be sure to participate in OLLN's Leadership Summit on January 16 -- register today! You can also respond to an action alert, write a letter to your legislators, meet with your legislators, participate in a rally or advocacy day, attend and/or testify at a committee hearing, write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, and so much more.
Here are a few key steps to take before session begins: identify your legislators in the House and Senate, the committees they will serve on, the committee schedules, and then check out the bills introduced so far!
