Training for Educators & Those Supporting Educators
June 7, 5:00 - 6:15pm
Register here for this FREE event by June 5
It is an honor for the Sabiduría program in collaboration with Trauma Informed Oregon to offer a training for educators focused on supporting resiliency and self-regulation for BIPOC students.
This session is tailored to educators of elementary and middle school age students, particularly those working with students of color, as well as those who support educators.
We’ll define emotion regulation and bust some myths around “resilience” and “regulation”. You will walk away with actionable regulation strategies to practice in the moment that can also be implemented within a classroom setting in a culturally-responsive and trauma-informed manner. The session will end with designing a personalized action plan on staying accountable to implementing at least one regulation strategy for yourself and/or in the classroom. A recorded video will be available after the session.
Facilitators: This training is facilitated by an amazing expert and colleague in the field of children resiliency, Dr. Sharon Lo, PhD and two PhD Sabiduría students, Alicia Vasquez, MA and Sandra Morales, MA, School of Graduate Psychology-Pacific University
