Join us for a conversation with Shannon Singleton, Director of Equity and Racial Justice with Governor Brown's Office.
In her role, Shannon is the co-facilitator of the Governor’s Racial Justice Council (RJC), a gathering of 35 public sector leaders dismantling structural racism with a keen focus on reformative legislation highlighting the urgent needs of Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Latino/a/x, and Tribal communities. Shannon has an extensive background in social work and racial justice, with over 20 years of experience in housing, homelessness, and behavioral health. Singleton received her undergraduate social work degree from Temple University and a master's degree from Portland State University, where she also teaches in the Graduate School of Social Work.
We are excited for this opportunity to:
Get a brief update on the RJC's purpose, priorities, and plans for the future
Hear highlights on how equity priorities, particularly for the Latinx community, are being reflected in policy and budget developments this legislative session
Ask questions, and learn how we can support final actions this session!
Please join the dialog on advancing equity through state policy, practices, and budget!
