Volunteers Needed: Urgent Vaccine Phase Outreach

What do we need to do: Unidos is looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers who can join us in an effort to call community members and inform them about the upcoming March 29th new vaccine phase. This new phase will allow agricultural workers and people aged 45-64 with qualifying underlying medical conditions to get vaccinated against COVID.
Why is it important: There has already been a vast inequity in vaccination efforts in our community and it is critical that we share this information with our neighbors to better ensure equitable community vaccination. As the process to register is online, we are seeing a technological, as well as informational, gap that is affecting the Latinx community at an unproportional rate. How we can help: We will provide you with a script to follow with FAQs, resources to share and a list of numbers to call. You can use your own phone number or can create a google voice number. You can take on a list of as many phone numbers as you feel comfortable committing to with the goal of completing the outreach before the 29th of this month.
For volunteers interested, we would also like to offer folks assistance the day they are able to register for their appointments.
